i liked it all but the last one,, just dont think you can throw a guy off like that. but some of the others use a hip toss just like judo, and that takes there feet right off the ground if you het it right. i lik etheas demes,, thay are more street, the guy is attacking and striking, not grabing your arm,,lol i mean honestly who grabe your arm in a fught, but that is probaly just the place to start. i like how he can throw him without grabing him, you cant always grab a hand,,great vidio.
inclodeing preasure points but aikidoka let go of thear enemy in hapkido when we yous the tech thear slightly modifide to we if you dont go with the flow your arm will break in 3 placesis youl also learn ground fighting hapkido is the way to go if you looking for a street certified art so check some vids on hapkido it is know as the hormany power way
well down hear in louisiana we have a hapkido school which is a bit moor efective than aikido cus we have all the locks throws an that of the styl plus elbow strikes kicks knees fingers punhes arm and strikes of all parts of the body
the only ones i dont understand are the ones where they throw them with really really slight movments, where would i find a place where i could take lessons?
for all those who think it’s fake and acted.
come to a practise.
im doing it for as couple of years now,and even today i see technique i whould say that couldn’t posisble work.
that is until you feel it. Believ me on this one.
If you think the attacker in this video is LETTING himself be thrown we must not be watching the same video. He isnt even given time to LET anything happen. He is going straight down. Combine aikido with some TKD or other art and you have a great combo.
This is ridiculous. There are some joint manipulations in aikido that will force you to the ground instantly. Thats what you wont catch in a video is the fact you joint is being manipulated that you must fall or suffer unbearable pain.
you have pointed out the most common misconception of aikido; that it only works in the dojo, and that the uke throws him/herself, and is worthless in a ‘real’ fight… while it is true that prolonged practice in the dojo can lead the one ‘anticipating’ the technique, and then tend to throw themself, this would be poor practice for any martial art to hurt your muscle memory by not resisting and chalenging tori… one may never be consistent in their timming, but a good aikidoka links techniques
judo and aikido are actually based on very similar principals, infact the budo I practice, yoseikan budo, founded by mochizuki, who studied under both kano o-sensei and ueshiba o-sensei, the founders of judo and aikido respectivly.. is a mix between aikido and judo, as well as karate and tenshin-katori shinto-ryu… judo is very good for close quarters and for grappeling, but aikido is a great mid-range set of techniques for locks, and the complement eachother (in my opinion) perfectly
The fact is that they are not LETTING you manipulate their body. If the opponent’s momentum is used against them correctly they cannot counter-act. That is the premise of Aikido.
joor wrong aikido is just as usefull in any fight situation as judo…you just have to remember to use it…aikido is great for counter attacking..and using the throws to transition into armbars and oter submissions..i dont even know aikido but im certain i could use the moves in a fight.
i am yellow belt in aikido, that means a pretty amateur, i cant do a flip by myself, as that seems to be… but once at training my trainer said me to attack him whith shomen, a over head stirke, the very next moment i can remember vas a awesome flip and i felt the ground boy! i did nothing, it even did not hurt so much as he grabed my hand… it was like “huh?!” :))
I do aikido and have used it to defend myself in a fight situation before and seen my security guard use it with devistating effect. Jiu Jistu is more effective imo though.

I have a black belt in TKD and have been in Aikido for 4 years and must say this is the best martial arts video I have seen on aikido on youtube.

yea i kno you can make someone flip in some moves but some of these moves they show in demenstrations are not possible
